Viele europäische Länder bieten ein Bildungsurlaubsprogramm an. Darunter versteht man den Rechtsanspruch von Arbeitnehmer/innen auf bezahlte Freistellung von der Arbeit, um an anerkannten Veranstaltungen wie zum Bespiel Sprachkursen teilzunehmen.

Die von den Ländern anerkannten Veranstaltungen dienen der beruflichen Weiterbildung oder der politischen Bildung. IH Berlin PROLOG führt SUPER-INTENSIV Kurse in zahlreichen Fremdsprachen und STANDARD-PLUS Kurse für Deutsch als Fremdsprache durch, die genau diesen Anforderungen entsprechen. Many European nations offer a •paid educational leave programme, which is the right to a period of paid leave from your employment in order to take part in a state-approved educational programme.

These programmes are accredited by Germany's federal states and cover either further education or political education.
