Neue EUROLTA Kurse / New EUROLTA courses
Nachdem wir Anfang 2010 die •EUROLTA-Trainingsprogramme (European Certificate in Language Teaching to Adults) gestartet haben und in den nächsten Tagen mit dem zweiten Kursdurchgang beginnen, finden wir es an der Zeit, noch einmal alle wichtigen Punkte dieses Qualifikationsprogramms zu präsentieren.
IH Berlin PROLOG begann 2005, die ersten •Trainingskurse für DaF-Lehrer (Lehrer für Deutsch als Fremdsprache) anzubieten. Seitdem stieg die Anzahl der Trainees und der Trainungskurse von Jahr zu Jahr. 2007 wurde IH Berlin PROLOG vom Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge (BAMF) als DaZ-Zentrum (Deutsch als Zweitsprache) anerkannt. Im Auftrag des BAMF werden bei IH Berlin PROLOG Lehrer für DaZ fortgebildet – ein wichtiger Beitrag für die sprachliche Integration von Migranten in Deutschland. 2010 gelang uns dann der erfolgreiche Start des EUROLTA-Programms, das wir in Kooperation mit der Berliner Senatsverwaltung für Erziehung, Forschung und Wissenschaft durchführen.
Ein EUROLTA-Kurs umfasst fast 120 Seminar- und Workshopstunden mit Themen wie Unterrichtsmethodik, interkulturelle Kompetenzen, Evaluation und angemessenes Unterrichtsmaterial, Stunden- und Kursplanung, Berücksichtigung unterschiedlicher Lerntypen und Lernarten sowie die Beurteilung der Lernfortschritte.
Der Kurs wurde sowohl für zukünftige als auch für bereits unterrichtende Fremdsprachenlehrer entwickelt und erstreckt sich über sieben Wochenenden. Es steht noch eine sehr begrenzte Anzahl an Plätzen für unseren Herbst-Kurs zur Verfügung. Neue Kurse werden wieder im nächsten Jahr angeboten. Having launched the •EUROLTA (European Certificate in Language Teaching to Adults) training programme in Berlin at the start of 2010, and with the start of the second round of courses just around the corner, we thought now would be the perfect time for an update on all things EUROLTA.
IH Berlin started offering •training courses for DaF (German as a Foreign Language) teachers in 2005. Since then, the teacher training department has gone from strength to strength. In 2007, IH Berlin became a training centre for DaZ (German as a Second Language), offering courses on behalf of the German Office for Migration and Refugees and taking on an important role in enabling the further integration of migrants to Germany. 2010 has seen the successful launch of our first training programmes for teachers of other languages, offered in cooperation with the Berlin Senate department for Education, Research and Science.
The EUROLTA course comprises roughly 120 hours of seminars and workshops covering topics such as teaching methodology, the importance of cultural awareness in language learning, evaluating and adapting materials, lesson and course planning, catering to different learning styles and assessing students’ progress.
The course is designed for both in-service and prospective language teachers and is spread over seven weekends. There are still a very limited number of places for our autumn course and new courses will be running throughout 2011.
