PROLOG kennenlernen / Get to know PROLOG - Paul
Hallo! Ich bin Paul und arbeite hier bei IH Berlin PROLOG als Assistant Director of Studies im Fachbereich Englisch. Ich bin erst letztes Jahr hierher gezogen und somit noch verhältnismäßig neu in Berlin. Hier zu sein, ist eine großartige Erfahrung für mich und ich lerne ständig dazu.
In meiner Funktion als ADoS beschäftige ich mich u. a. mit der Organisation und Stundenplanung unseres Englischunterrichts, was sowohl Intensivkurse als auch Einzelunterricht, Business English und Prüfungsvorbereitungskurse betrifft. Daneben arbeite ich an der Entwicklung des Englischprogramms bei PROLOG mit, wobei ich mich vorwiegend mit dem Erstellen von neuen Unterrichtsplänen und –materialien, der Weiterentwicklung und Verbesserung unserer Kurse, der Planung und Durchführung von Workshops für die Lehrer und generell der Fortbildung unserer Lehrer beschäftige.
Bevor ich nach Berlin gekommen bin, habe ich in diversen anderen Ländern unterrichtet bzw. sie bereist. Den Großteil des vergangenen Jahres habe ich als Schulentwicklungsberater in einem Dorf in Kamerun verbracht, wo ich mich für die Entwicklung von Grundschulen und dafür, dass mehr Mädchen Schulen besuchen, eingesetzt und die Lehrer vor Ort unterstützt habe.
Ich habe Schüler aller Niveaustufen in Ländern wie Japan, Korea und Chile unterrichtet und bin sehr froh und dankbar dafür, dass ich die Gelegenheit hatte, mit solch vielfältigen Kulturen zu arbeiten, so viele wunderbare Erfahrungen zu machen und so viele interessante Menschen zu treffen. Da ich noch nicht sehr lange in Berlin bin, verbringe ich einen Großteil meiner Zeit damit, mein Deutsch zu verbessern. Ich genieße die Herausforderungen der deutschen Grammatik und freue mich schon darauf, mich in der Zukunft noch besser mit Deutschen verständigen zu können. Wenn Sie also das nächste Mal in der Schule sind, kommen Sie doch ruhig vorbei und überzeugen Sie sich von meinen Fortschritten.

Hello! My name is Paul and I work as Assistant Director of Studies for the English department here at IH Berlin PROLOG. I’m relatively new here in Berlin, having only moved to the city last year, and so far am having a great experience and learning a lot.
As ADOS, I’m involved in the organising and scheduling for the English lessons, whether it be Intensive courses, 1-2-1 classes, Business English or examination preparation classes. As well as this, I am actively involved in helping to develop the English programme at PROLOG – focusing on producing new lesson plans, developing and improving courses, creating and holding workshops and aiding in continual teacher development.
Prior to working in Berlin I have taught and travelled in a variety of different places. I spent most of last year working as a School Development Advisor in a village in Cameroon with the aim of developing primary schools, increasing the number of girls who attend school and assisting and supporting Cameroonian teachers.
I have taught English at all levels in countries, such as Japan, Korea and Chile. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in such diverse cultures, to have had so many wonderful experiences and to have met so many interesting people.
As I am new to Berlin, a lot of my time is spent trying to improve my German language ability. I am really relishing the challenge of German grammar and look forward to the future and being able to converse a little bit more effectively with German people!
