PROLOG kennenlernen / Get to know PROLOG - Uschi
Hallo, ich bin Uschi. Ich schreibe euch aus dem Felsenkeller – das ist eine total schöne Kneipe gegenüber von PROLOG. Hier trinke ich gerne mit meinen netten Kollegen ein Feierabendbier nach einem langen Tag Teacher Training. Ich bin nämlich seit diesem Jahr Tutorin in der Lehrerausbildung bei IH Berlin PROLOG. Wie ich dazu gekommen bin? Das war so:
In Peru musste ich 2001 Studenten an der Universität deutsche Grammatik erklären und ich kam an meine Grenzen: Die Studenten wussten mehr über Dativ, Akkusativ, Partizipien und Co als ich! Wie konnte das sein? Also machte ich, zurück in Deutschland, als Trainee den Teacher Training Kurs am International House in Freiburg. Das machte mir so viel Spaß und ich entdeckte so viel über meine eigene Muttersprache, dass ich danach parallel zu meinem Studium der Italianistik, Germanistik und Ethnologie als DaF-Lehrerin arbeitete. Das machte ich dann nicht nur in Deutschland, sondern auch in Italien und in China. Beruflich und privat reiste ich schon immer sehr gerne. So bin ich 2009 in Berlin gelandet - natürlich bei PROLOG! Hier habe ich auch meine Ausbildung zur Teacher Trainerin gemacht und teile seitdem meine Freude am Unterrichten mit engagierten Nachwuchslehrern.
Und neben der Arbeit? Da findet man mich am besten beim Klettern, beim Klarinette-Spielen, im Theater oder beim Salsa-Tanzen. All das ist in Berlin so einfach möglich. Das finde ich so super an der Stadt.
Hello, I’m Uschi, I’m writing to you from Felsenkeller – it’s a really beautiful bar across the street from IH Berlin PROLOG. I like to have an after-work beer here with my wonderful colleagues after a long day of teacher training. As of this year, I have started working as a tutor in the teacher training programme at PROLOG. How did I get here? It goes like this:
While I was in Peru in 2001, I worked with university students and taught them German grammar, but soon reached my own limits. The students knew more about the dative, accusative and participles than I did! How could that be? When I returned to Germany, I became a trainee for the teacher training course at the International House Freiburg. I had so much fun and discovered so much about my native language that I trained to become a German teacher while I was studying Italian, German and Ethnology at university. My studies took me all the way to Italy and China. I love to travel, either on business or for pleasure. So in 2009, I landed in Berlin and soon found work at PROLOG, where I became a teacher trainer and have shared my love of language instruction with motivated teachers-to-be.
And when I’m not working? You’ll often find me rock climbing, playing the clarinet, enjoying the theatre or dancing salsa. All of these activities are possible in Berlin, and that’s why I love this city so much.
