Teacher training mit AZWV
Das Jahr 2008 ist zu Ende gegangen und die noch recht junge Teachertraining-Abteilung von IH Berlin PROLOG kann eine positive Bilanz ziehen. Der •IH Zertifikatskurs Deutsch als Fremdsprache wurde im Herbst 2005 zum ersten Mal von IH Berlin PROLOG durchgeführt. Er hat zum Ziel, den Teilnehmern zu vermitteln, wie sie Engagement und Kreativität wirkungsvoll und zielgerichtet im Unterricht einsetzen und dabei die Lernenden und ihre Bedürfnisse in den Mittelpunkt stellen können.
Der Kurs entspricht der international bekannten CELTA-Qualifikation für Lehrkräfte, die Englisch als Fremdsprache unterrichten. Er umfasst 145 Kontaktstunden im Laufe von vier Wochen. Die Teilnehmer unterrichten vom ersten Tag an! Ein Trainer begleitet hierbei die Unterrichtspraxis von vier bis sechs Lehrerkandidaten. Darüber hinaus werden in Theorieseminaren Inhalte vermittelt, die im Unterricht direkt umgesetzt werden sollen.
Der Kurs hat sich als wirklich herausfordernde und in hohem Maße professionelle Qualifizierungsmaßnahme weit über Berlin hinaus einen Namen gemacht. So konnten wir im Jahr 2007 neben den vier Kursen in Berlin auch einen Kurs in Ljubljana für Deutschlehrer des International House MINT durchführen. Nach der Zertifizierung durch EUROLTA im Jahr 2006 wurde der IHC-Kurs 2007 auch nach •AZWV (Anerkennungs- und Zulassungsverordung Weiterbildung) anerkannt. Er gilt der Bundesagentur für Arbeit als Weiterbildungsmaßnahme und wird unter der Maßnahmennummer 922/3220/07 (Kompetenzzentrum Sprachen) geführt.
In diesem Jahr werden wir insgesamt vier Trainings mit jeweils maximal 12 Auszubildenen durchführen:

As the year 2008 fades into memory, PROLOG’s newest department, the Teacher Training department, has had a very positive year. The •IHC (International House Certificate) course for teachers of German as a Foreign Language was first offered in autumn 2005. The aim of the course is to show teachers how they can use their creativity and commitment in a target-oriented and effective manner within the classroom in order to prioritise the needs of their language learners.
The course follows the same structure as the internationally renowned CELTA qualification for English teachers. Over the course of four weeks, the trainees experience a total of 145 contact hours. The trainees start teaching groups of language learners from day one of the course. Each trainer is responsible for a teaching practice group of between four and six trainees. Alongside the teaching practice, trainees also attend seminars on teaching and learning theory, the contents of which they can employ directly in their classes.
The course has already established a reputation far beyond Berlin as a professional and extremely challenging qualification. As well as the four courses this year in Berlin, the Teacher Training department has also run a course in Ljubljana for International House MINT. In addition to the EUROLTA certification gained in 2006, the IHC course is now also certified by the •AZWV (Regulation for accreditation of continuing education) and approved by the German Employment Office as a professional development course.
