Entdecken Sie das Deutsche Historische Museum! Im Zeughaus, Unter den Linden 2. Vor zwei Jahren hat vom Stararchitekten Ieoh Ming Pei, dem „Meister des Lichts“, eine neue Ausstellungshalle als Erweiterungsbau bekommen. Seitdem finden im Pei-Bau viele interessante Wechselausstellungen statt. Vor allem die dortige Photogalerie lohnt einen Besuch. Und das Beste: Montags hat das Museum geöffnet – und der Eintritt ist frei!
Aber nicht nur ein Besuch des inzwischen mehrfach prämierten Pei-Baus lohnt sich. Auch die ständige Ausstellung „Deutsche Geschichte in Bildern und Zeugnissen“ ist seit ihrer Eröffnung Pfingsten 2006 ein Besuchermagnet. Wenn sich also das nächste Mal Berlinerbesuch angekündigt hat und Sie vor den Festtagen einen Museumsbesuch planen – ab ins DHM. Vielleicht schauen Sie auch mal in der Guggenheim-Galerie Unter den Linden vorbei, in der der Eintritt montags ebenfalls frei ist. Von Dienstag bis Sonntag kostet der Eintritt im Zeughaus übrigens vier Euro, Kinder und Jugendliche unter 18 Jahren haben immer freien Eintritt.
Noch bis zum 29. April läuft in der Reihe "Politische Ikonographie" eine Ausstellung zum Thema "Kunst und Propaganda - im Streit der Nationen 1930-45" und vom 30. März bis 29. Juli ist eine Ausstellung mit dem Titel "Parteidiktatur und Alltag in der DDR" geplant. Sie möchte Antwort auf die Fragen geben, wie es den Bürgerinnen und Bürgern in der DDR gelang, ihren Alltag zu bewältigen und wie sie sich den Zumutungen der Diktatur und ihrer Ideologie entziehen konnten. Discover the German Historical Museum in the Zeughaus, Unter den Linden 2. Two years ago, the star architect Ieoh Ming Pei, also known as the Master of Light, was contracted to build a new exhibition hall as an extension to the original museum. The Pei building has held many interesting changing exhibitions since its conception. The photography gallery is especially worthy of a visit. And the best news: the museum is open on Mondays when there is no entry fee.
But the award-winning Pei building is only the beginning. The permanent exhibition “German History in Images and Testimonials” has been a visitor magnet since its inauguration in June 2006. So, the next you have some visitors to Berlin and you’re planning your cultural programme, don’t forget the GHM. Or maybe take a look at the Guggenheim gallery on Unter den Linden, where entrance is also free on Mondays. From Tuesday to Saturday, the entrance fee for the GHM costs € 4, children and youths under 18 are always free.
The exhibition about Art and Propaganda - Clash of Nations 1930-45 from the Political Iconography series is running until April 29 and from March 30 to July 29, an exhibition named Party Dictatorship and Daily Life in the GDR is planned. It attempts to answer the question of how citizens of the GDR dealt with their daily lives and how they eluded the unreasonable demands of the dictatorship and its ideology.
